Electrochemically Enhanced Leaching
A new hydrometallurgical alternative for the recovery of metals from sulphide tailings and ore. The ExtrEL system uses electrochemistry to enhance the oxidation of sulphide minerals and the subsequent solubility of metals of economic interest.
Features
• Suitable for metal recovery from tailings or low-grade sulphide metal
deposists.
• Can be used in conjunction with standard metallurgical equipment such
as electrowinning
• High temperatures or pressures are not required.
Bench Testing
• Preliminary testing has demonstrated 200% greater recovery than standard acid leaching approach.
