The DesEL Process
The DesEL system is a patented technology c onstructed of inexpensive carbon electrodes that reversibly adsorb salts and other charged substances dissolved in water.
The electrodes are energized using direct current to attract positively charged ions to the negatively charged electrode and vice versa.

Electrode regeneration is part of the process cycle and is accomplished by reversing the polarity of the electrodes.

During regeneration the ions are repelled from the electrodes and are purged out of the cell in a small volume of concentrate. This mode of operation results in higher water recovery and lower maintenance than competing systems.
