Enpar Background
Enpar Technologies was co-founded by Dr. Gene Shelp whose geochemical research from 1991 led to patenting an electrochemical technology for preventing acid mine drainage (AMD), a major problem facing mining industries worldwide.
The "AmdEL" system was the outcome of his research and the basis in 1997 for Enpar becoming a publicly traded corporation dedicated to correcting the causes of environmental water damage from mine waste.
Since that time, Enpar has expanded an array of proprietary systems focused on removing dissolved inorganic contaminants from water. The "AmmEL" ammonia removal system has been set up and proven at various municipal treatment facilities in Canada. The "DesEL" deionization system is new technology for superior water deionization now being demonstrated at various industrial and mining sites in Pretoria, South Africa. AmdEL is currently being evaluated by the US EPA.
