What is ESD and how does it work?
ESD is a patent-pending capacitive
deionization water treatment system that
reversibly adsorbs ions and other charged
substances dissolved in water.
During purification, the electrodes are
polarized using direct current to attract
positively charged ions (cations) to the
negatively charged electrode and negatively
charged ions (anions) to the positively charged
electrode.

During regeneration, the polarity is reversed and, the ions are repelled from the electrodes and purged out of the cell as a small volume of concentrate.

This technology provides a higher water recovery (water recovery as high as 97% combined with a greater than 95% removal of TDS) with lower maintenance than competing systems.
