Cyanide Destruction
ENPAR Technologies Inc. has developed an electrochemical method for the destruction of cyanide in solution. The electrochemical oxidation of cyanide represents an advanced, chemical free method of removing cyanide from major releases to water such as discharges from metal finishing industries, iron and steel mills, and organic chemical industries. This advanced technology can also be used to treat cyanide contaminated leachate resulting from the disposal of cyanide wastes in landfills and to treat solutions common in the mining and metal processing industries.
This new technology has proven to be very effective. Cyanide concentrations of greater than 2200 ppm have been reduced to less than 3 ppm as illustrated in the chart below.
